Mexican pewter is practical as well as attractive. It can be used in the oven and kept in the refrigerator. It is approved for a maximum temperature of 530 degrees Fahrenheit, although it is not recommended for baking. Do not put pewter in a microwave oven. Due to pewter's ability to retain heat and cold, foods served in this product will maintain their temperature. It can be used for any type of food, including salads. Do not use to store acidic foods for an extended period of time. (i.e. salads containing high amounts of vinegar or lemon juice) as this may discolor the finish.
When washing your pieces, remember that they should be rinsed thoroughly and towel dried to avoid water spots. Do not wash in a dishwasher, as cleaning and rinsing agents may damage the highly polished surface. You can use pewter every day, and with proper care, it will never dull and will make your table festive year round.
